| Abstract: The goal of this article is to define the Technology of the Software Defined Radio (SDR), also the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and the commercial applications of those devices for that new technology of RF communications. It is considered here a brief description of the SDR Technology, the model of communications across conventional system totally implemented by hardware (HDR) comparing to the SDR Technology. We also mention the RF signal treatment RF by the SDR ideal architecture and the challenges to be get over in the next years. |

| Abstract: On the last years, the globalization have raised the demand for communications services more efficient, mainly the mobile communication services. Final users of this services demand bigger facility and bigger commodity on the acquisition of information in little time and need to be in communication in every time and everywhere. It’s in this context that the Software Defined Radio (SDR) become extremely attractive. It refers to a multi-manner and multi-band device that accept different air interfaces and transmission band in the same equipment. To have the best performance of the SDR, for them respond in the same way to all possible configurations, the antenna would have be multi-band or wideband to receive a large range of frequencies without loss of power and unless quality production of reception. Thus, the smart antennas are fundamental piece in the SDR development. This article have the function to give a quick description of how the smart antennas theme have been treated by the SDR group of UnB and which proposal solutions looking at the solution of the problems and challenge that this subject involve. |

| Abstract: The Software Defined Radio Architecture (SDR) will allow the fully integration of the telecommunication services, but before achieve this complete interoperability, several constrains in the RF module implementation must be overcome. The research to solve these difficulties should use professionals, not only from digital signal processing area, but also the microelectronics and antenna experts. This paper show in a short way the problems, the technologies and the possible solutions discussed in some Germany Research Centres, in the development of a SDR solution to be applied in car, embebed systems, or even in a mobile terminal. The analysis is focused in two key applications, RF-MEMs (Radio Frequency Micro Electromechanichal Machine) and Fractal Anatennas, and how these two technologies can be combined to allow the RF multiband operation of the SDR. |

| Abstract: A videoconferência veio para revolucionar a comunicação em meios móveis. Para que isso ocorra, tem que haver uma alta taxa de transmissão, que é um dos objetivos da 3G (IMT-2000), associada a um protocolo IP. Seus recursos são ilimitados, podendo ser usado em videochats para um público alvo jovem, e até mesmo em reuniões inadiáveis para um público alvo executivo.
